Dakota Ferreiro aka "MISS DAKOTA" is a well-known burlesque performer and captivating on camera personality has put the classic art of burlesque in the contemporary Hollywood spotlight and has performed nationwide and internationally. Combining the art of "tease" with extensive dance training including styles of dance from ballet to ballroom, flamenco to jazz and her own Latin flare, Miss Dakota is at the top of her game as a burlesque performer and much more. For five years Dakota was the headlining act at exclusive, upscale venue Forty Deuce both in Los Angeles and Las Vegas. Dakota captivated her audiences dancing to the tunes of a sultry 3-piece jazz band in her extravagant custom-designed costumes.
Dakota has continued to develop her signature burlesque act collaborating with solo violinist, Quetzal Guerrero, adding cabaret dancers, and using props. Dakota has been the highlight of many high profile A-list events including legendary musician Sting's birthday party, MAC Cosmetics Spring Launch, House of Campari with W Magazine, VOGUE Magazine's annual Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Gala party in New York City, Red Bull Air Race, Belvedere, Rock Your Fashion AOL series, 944 Magazine, appeared as a celebrity guest on VH-1's hit show Rock of Love 2 demonstrating her burlesque moves and most recently on Showtime's Live Nude Comedy with host Shannon Elizabeth. Miss Dakota has also performed for the launch of Victoria's Secret in Warsaw Poland, at FUJI Rock in Kyoto Japan and nationwide at Jack Rabbit Scottsdale, Arizona, The Chelsea C5 Atlantic City, & the Shrine at Foxwoods MGM Resort Connecticut.
Producing her performances single handedly Dakota has branched out and taken her burlesque cabaret expertise behind t he scenes as well, producing, choreographing, and performing in Glory Box Cabaret, a staged show she created early 2009 consisting of six acts. Currently Dakota continues to perform in person & film upon request as well as taking on the role of Creative Director, Producer and choreographer of a one hour cabaret and burlesque show that will be housed in the El San Juan Hotel, San Juan, Puerto Rico late 2009 with future locations to be announced.
Based on the wild popularity of Forty Deuce, Dakota starred in the Zalman King-directed docu-drama series Forty Deuce on Bravo which chronicled the opening of the first Forty Deuce club in Las Vegas at the Mandalay Bay Hotel & Casino and showed her fans a behind-the-scenes look at the training, preparation (and drama...) involved in her show. She has appeared as an actor and dancer in blockbuster films such as Collateral starring Tom Cruise and Jamie Fox, and Bad Boys II starring Will Smith, independent films including Bad Reputation; Stiletto, and Privileged as well as television shows such as the Will Smith-produced series All of Us. Other television appearances include Oxygen's 25iest Power Couples (as a talking head), Carson Daly's 30 Seconds of LA & Mardi Gras special, TV Guide Channel's Reality Chat; The Emmy's, American Latino, Latin Nation, Oprah and The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. During her career as a professional dancer and choreographer, she graced the stage and screen with legendary artists including Calle 13, Josh Groban, Enrique Iglesias, Gypsy Kings, Prince, George Michael, Maroon 5, and Marco Antonio Solis.
Growing up in the Bronx, Dakota, of Puerto Rican and German descent, always followed her passion to perform and was destined to become a star from a young age. She started dancing at the age of 5, studying Russian Ballet early on at the Bronx Dance Theatre under renowned faculty and received an arts scholarship to Fieldston Arts Academy, where she was also bitten by the acting bug. While attending Lincoln High School for Performing Arts in Westchester, NY, her professional dance career began and her passion for acting grew. She received a scholarship to join David Mamet's prestigious Atlantic Theatre Company and continued to study acting at HB Studios in New York City and later in Los Angeles with renowned acting coach Aaron Spieser. Rounding out her dance training, Dakota also studied ballroom and Latin dance under world champion competition dancers and went on to compete in the salsa world.
Also a dynamic on-air personality, Dakota has hosted segments for Maxim TV's "The Girlie Show," pop-music channel MuchMusic, and was the spokesperson for "Forty Deuce" for many appearances across the country including a stint as the "Sexy Expert " host for a
nationally-syndicated morning news Valentine's Day Special and has been featured on YoungHollywood.com.
Most recently, Dakota is sharing her enthusiasm for the art of burlesque, dance, and fitness through a fun and sexy workout she created called "Burlesque Body by Dakota" that allows women to let go of their inhibitions and build confidence while slimming down and toning. The Burlesque Body workout, as featured in Latina, Angeleno magazine, 944 Magazine, Young Hollywood, and others, is currently offered at exclusive gyms and private workshops in Los Angeles and is on the rise in the Hollywood scene.
